Dubai, UAE – 21 Sep 2023 – The Dubai Renewable Energy Business Group (DREBG), operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, successfully hosted its First Round Table Meeting under the auspices of Dubai Chambers, marking a significant step in uniting stakeholders to drive the emirate’s clean energy transformation.
Ms. Maha AlGargawi, Vice-President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, opened the meeting with a powerful keynote address, emphasizing the timely formation of DREBG as the world prepared for COP28. She highlighted the importance of collaborative platforms like DREBG in advancing Dubai’s renewable energy agenda.
The event’s sponsor, Mr. Mawan Al Jaber of JA Solar, showcased Dubai’s competitive edge in the renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on its leadership in solar power.
Mr. L K Verma, Chairman of the DREBG Board, reaffirmed the group’s mission to accelerate renewable energy growth in alignment with the government’s vision, stressing the need for strong industry-government cooperation to meet ambitious clean energy targets.
The open house session allowed members, industry leaders, and policymakers to engage in invaluable discussions, addressing pressing industry concerns and exploring actionable solutions.
